For the purification by crystallization lab
What properties are necessary and desirable for a
solvent in order that it be well suited for re-crystallizing a particular organic compound?
Why is suction firation preferable to ordinary gravity firation for separating the purified crystals from the mother-liquor? Why is it desirable to turn-off the vacuum before washing the crystals with small portions of fresh solvent?
What could be the difficuy in this lab?
